| A Seward High School version of soccer at the Sports Festival |
In Peace Boat's first ever visit to Alaska, participants joined with students of Seward High School in a cross-cultural exchange using the international language of sport. Through a game of kickball - a cross between soccer and baseball - soccer and choreographing a cheerleading routine, Peace Boat participants and Seward high Schools students made the most of a clear blue sky and unusually warm weather to share their love of sport. After the events and an exchange of soccer balls as gifts to remember the day, promises were made to meet again next time Peace Boat called at Seward. |

| Charity auction event raises money to re-build Palestinian independent radio station |
Communication Coordinators and GET Teachers - Auction Night
Over 500 dollars was raised for an independent Palestinian radio station in a charity auction night in which Communication Coordinators and GET Teachers got together to "sell" their talents and skills to the bidder's highest price. Services on offer included guitar lessons, English, French or Spanish tuition, a set of portrait photographs and a table waiting service. The money will go to promoting a media service that was once forcefully disabled by the Israeli military. |
