While Peace Boat sailed away from the glittering city lights of Singapore, the international staff and participants worked together in the hunt for clues and challenges hidden throughout the ship. The 150 participants, split into 12 intrepid teams, had to solve brainteasers and riddles before finding the location of a concealed letter or challenge.
Once they had found the letter or completed a challenge - these included scoring a basket against two-meter-tall international student from Serbia, Ilir Gasi, singing on stage with a GET English teacher and swimming around a pool with no water - the teams then raced back to get the next clue.
After 12 letters had been collected, members of the teams had to unravel the anagram of the final party destination. Using only English to communicate between nearly 20 different nationalities, the teams all tried to be the first group to complete the treasure hunt and make their way to the top deck of the ship where the festivities were waiting.
The winning team, captained by GET teacher Martin Tighe, celebrated their victory with a first place prize of a bottle of wine, as all the participants toasted the end of a fun packed evening. |
