Throughout the voyage, participants learn about different types of cuisine popular throughout the world. As the 69th Voyage sailed past Asia, a fruit party was held where people tried produce grown throughout the region including mangosteens and durians, famous for their notorious smell. |

Participants build a giant play-house made of recyclable material including boxes and paper as part of celebrations for Children's Day. Officially called Kodomo No Hi in Japan, the day was traditionally for young boys, but young girls have also been participating in the festivities in recent years. |

The Communication Coordinators, onboard interpreting and translation volunteers, introduce themselves to the participants. These Japanese, English and Spanish speakers work hard onboard and in ports to facilitate communication between people of different backgrounds. |

More than 400,000 yen was raised during a charity auction held by participants. Some of the items donated for the auction included a night in a guest suite and Latin dance lessons. |

Participants make a giant crane using dozens of sheets of paper. The crane has become a symbol of peace after a young girl suffering from exposure to radiation through the atomic bombing of Hiroshima made one thousand paper cranes before her death at the age of 12. |
