| Peace Boat's 69th Global Voyage departed from Japan on April 16, 2010 to visit 22 ports of call in 20 countries around the world. With ten Hibakusha (atomic bomb survivors) joining the voyage and taking place at the same time as the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference at the United Nations, this voyage will have a strong focus on nuclear disarmament and how to create a peaceful, nuclear-free world. It also features the relaunch of the Global University, with themes including peaceful resolution of conflicts in the Middle East, environmental sustainability in Northern Europe and globalisation in Latin America. The voyage will return to Japan on July 25, 2010. |
