Peace Boat's 64th Global Voyage will depart from Yokohama on January 15, and spend 95 days travelling throughout the southern hemisphere. The continuation of environmental education programmes initiated during the ship's inaugural visit to the Antarctic region in early 2008 will be a highlight. Through programmes focusing on the “Global South”, participants will learn about and experience key issues such as poverty, sustainable development, indigenous identities, the lingering effects of colonialism, as well as the creative and vibrant ways communities are dealing with these issues and creating their own solutions.
