Voyage Itinerary
Peace Boat's 55th Global Voyage for Peace, departed from Yokohama, Japan on November 2, 2006 and will return on February 11, 2007, taking a northern hemisphere course around the earth, passing through the Suez and Panama Canals, and calling on a diversity of ports including the Seychelles, Libya, Brazil, Venezuela and Hawaii.

On January 10, Peace Boat participants gathered on the front deck of the ship to watch it enter the first lock of the Panama Canal. To circumvent many of the excavation difficulties that were present during the building the building of the Suez Canal, engineers of the Panama Canal developed a system to help lift boats over shallow waters. Passing through the canal took approximately 13 hours. >>read more
