San Francisco was the second to last port-of-call on the 54th voyage. To celebrate peace and social justice initiatives, Peace Boat held an event onboard with many local counter-partners, “Peace Revolution.”

Organizations including Veterans for Peace (www.veteransforpeace.org), ALARM Magazine (www.alarmpress.com), Global Citizen Center (www.globalcitizencenter.org), Code Pink (www.bayareacodepink.org), and Global Exchange (www.globalexchange.org), were invited onboard to distribute information about their organizations by setting up information booths, and provided a space where people could meet and network.

The event included presentations by recently-established partner organization Peace Boat US (www.peaceboat-us.org), an exhibition of traditional Japanese performance arts by participants, a special guest performance by RadioActive (of Spearhead), and finished off with a live DJ set by Rhombus from New Zealand (onboard from Jamaica to Honolulu).

Over 400 members of the San Francisco community attended, and enjoyed an evening of music and conversation with participants.
