Happy Halloween! Fundraising for children in Peru
October 31 was a day of festivities for many Peace Boat participants, who were treated to a full range of Halloween tricks and treats. Organized by Peace Boat staff, as well as the team of Global English/Espanol Training (GET) teachers – many of whom are from North America, participants had the chance to carve pumpkins and create ‘Jack O Lanterns’ and experience the thrills of a haunted house. |

At night, over 200 people attended a Halloween fundraising party, the proceeds of which will go towards the construction of a park and playground for children in Villa Maria in the suburban ‘slum’ outskirts of Lima, Peru. About 80 Peace Boat participants will have the chance to visit the site during their upcoming visit to Peru.
Andrea Humm, dressed as Peace Boat TSS The Topaz, won the most creative costume award in the Halloween fundraising party. |
