March 18, 2005 3.19.2005 “End the Occupation of Iraq!” “Bring the Troops Home!”
Marking the second anniversary of the invasion and occupation of Iraq, simultaneous global peace action will take place, telling the US administration to leave Iraq and end the war.

In Japan, a broad coalition of civil-society organizations called “World Peace Now” is organizing a peace rally and peace march in a clear demonstration of wide-spread public opinion against the US-led occupation in Iraq and participation of Japanese forces in the occupation.

The thousands of people expected to attend are encouraged to bring instruments and signboards, costumes, and other props to make sure their voices are well heard in Nagata-cho and Washington DC, making for a colorful and lively event. Peace Boat will carry a large transformed tank with the message “No to war tanks Yes to Peace Boat!”
