On February 7, participants will visit the controversial Yasukuni Shrine – a
symbol of Japanese militaristic imperialism. Despite protests by China, Korea and other Asian nations,
PM Koizumi has insisted on paying homage to the shrine, commenting that he sees no reason to bow
to overseas pressure.
Mr. Zhu from Nanjing has been researching and studying the impact of the Japanese occupation on the history
of China, as the head of the Nanjing Massacre Museum. Other participants include researchers on Unit
731 and Comfort Women. How will our Asian neighbors view Yasukuni Shrine? Come and join us.
