During our short programmes, you can attend lectures and workshops by our renowned guest educators, lounge by the pool, participate in any of the dozens of daily activities organized by other participants—such as yoga classes, tai chi, dance lessons, language practice—or organize your own event for others to take part in. Everyone has the chance to build a unique onboard experience!

Participation costs are calculated by the number of days onboard ($124 per day), your flight fee, and the number of ports you pass through ($15-18 per port). Meals onboard and daily workshops, lectures, and events are included in the total price. We will be happy to give you a more precise quote once you let us know which segment you are interested in joining.
Onboard Peace Education Programme:
Every Peace Boat Voyage focuses on selected pressing issues, and approximately 40 guest educators are invited onboard during various segments to give lectures and workshops about their area of experience and expertise. The 63rd Voyage will focus primarily on the Millennium Development Goals, the war in Iraq, the experiences of hibakushas, changes in Latin America, global warming as seen from the perspective of countries in the South Pacific, and indigenous issues. Guest educators who will join us onboard include Gabriel Tetiarahi, an indigenous Tahitian activist who helped put an end to 40 years of nuclear testing in the Pacific; Andreas Zumach, a journalist and specialist on Iraq and Iran; Minar Pimple, a United Nations Millennium Development Goals Educator, and Akiyama Toyohiro, a former astronaut who now spends his time on earth doing organic farming and advocating for better protection of our planet. Lectures by guest educators are offered almost daily and at no extra charge to participants. Please let us know which segment you are interested in joining, and we can tell you which guest educators will be onboard during that time and their area of specialty.
Volunteer in India after Peace Boat:
Currently we are working with one of our partner organizations--the Born Free Art School (www.bornfreeart.org/) in Bangalore, India--to create new, once-in-a lifetime opportunity that will continue even after reaching your port of disembarkation. From Yokohama to Kochi, take dance and music workshops onboard from John Devaraj, founder of the Born Free Art School--a school that works to free children from bonded labor and helps them develop their artistic and academic abilities--then travel to Bangalore, stay for a week at the school and get involved with its efforts to liberate and empower young people. You can even stay in India longer and join all or part of the Born Free Art School's 3,500 kilometer bike ride to deliver the world's largest love letter to Pakistan and promote peace between the two countries!
Our other short programmes also offer onland opportunities in various ports, so please contact pbglobal[at]peaceboat.gr.jp for more details. Peace Boat, Japan's most dynamic and creative NGO, welcomes your participation!
