Peace Boat takes part in United Nations High-Level Dialogue on Intercultural and Interreligious Understanding and Cooperation for Peace |

On October 4, 2007 Peace Boat Director Yoshioka Tatsuya took part in the General Assembly’s Civil Society hearings on Intercultural and Interreligious Understanding and Cooperation for Peace, as part of the ongoing High Level dialogue in the General Assembly on the subject.
Speaking in the panel, "Best Practices & Strategies for Interreligious & Intercultural Cooperation Going Forward”, Yoshioka stressed the importance of civil society, governments and international institutions cooperating to produce innovative peace education programs as a key to achieving mutual understanding based on respect. He illustrated his recommendations with some examples from Peace Boat’s work.
