Peace Now Korea Japan − a coalition of community groups from South
Korea and Japan − will form a human message of peace on Sept 17, marking 2-year
anniversary since PM Koizumi and Chairman Kim Jong-Il signed "Pyongyang Declaration". The message
expresses to the world, including 1.4 million East Asians, & the Japanese and South Korean
governments in particular, that we in Korea and Japan want peace and security in the region, and
that this should be achieved through peaceful means.
PNKJ is a new movement, formed in 2003 by young people in their 20s and 30s − many working
in NGOs and community groups in Japan and South Korea − who share the common goal of wanting
'to bring peace to the Korean Peninsula'. Activities include Youth Peace Walks across South Korea
and humanitarian aid through community fund-raising activities for the benefit of North Korean
children.
