Under the theme of "collaboration and coexistence between Japanese people and Korean residents of Japan", the One Korea Festival Tokyo 2004 will be held on Sunday, March 28 in Yoyogi Park. This multicultural festival, organized by Korean residents in Japan and Japanese youth, aims to promote international understanding and mutual respect, and over 20,000 participants are expected to attend.

'A more diverse world, created by youth who live in Japan' is one of the mantras adopted by the Festival organizers. The committee began life as a group of five university friends just after the Japan-North Korea Summit. Their motivation was to further the cause of, and to increase public attention on Korean residents of Japan. Currently the committee consists of 20 Korean Japanese and 40 Japanese youth.

The festival promises a lively mix of Korean food stalls, dance performances and parades. Peace Boat will host one stall.
