Delegation from Fukushima, participate in UN Conference, and return to Fukushima.Post-conference Report session to be held in Fukushima City on July 8 The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) was held from June 20 - 22 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. A delegation from Fukushima, including members of local civil society action groups, farmers and a university student traveled to Rio de Janeiro to participate in this conference. At Rio+20, the delegation spoke at events including an official UN side event, and cooperated with other participating NGOs to share their "Voices from Fukushima" on various levels. Their mission was to tell the world about the effects of the nuclear power plant accident, and to build a network for a future without nuclear power. Their visit to Rio not only contributed to the above, but was also an opportunity to bring feedback and messages from the world to Japan. A post-conference report session will be held in Fukushima as below, where achievements from the conference and messages from the world will be shared.
